The day I will celebrate will be the day that African heads of state can seek healthcare in their own countries.
The private sector must play their role, as it has tremendous potential. In Uganda, PPPs have provided funding for faith-based organisations who operate existing clinics rather than building new clinics. This has dramatically improved the health of the populations they serve.
Unless we can move goods between African countries, we cannot optimize our potential and will continue to be dependent on other countries and continents.
