Africa Vaccines Public Affairs Head - International Policy, Sanofi Pasteur

Barbara has 13 years of international experience in interactions with Health Authorities, Think Tanks and Payers for favorable environment shaping, advocacy, market access innovations and new business models in healthcare systems. Barbara started a career at the French Embassy in Japan. She joined Sanofi in 2014, as Diabetes and Cardiovascular Global Patient Engagement lead, after several years of experience of interacting with Health Authorities in small businesses, creation of innovative e-health starts ups and advocacy for new business models in healthcare systems.

 

In the past 6 years working in the Vaccines Global Unit at Sanofi Pasteur, Barbara has been in charge of Value and Access activities for influenza vaccines at global level and since December 2019, she has been appointed Vaccines Public Affairs Head for Africa & International Public Funded Markets in the International Policy team.

 

In her current role, Barbara is in charge of stakeholder engagement & collaboration, to create win-win partnerships in the frame of WHO Afro Regional priorities of IA 2030, advocacy for routine immunization, new vaccines introductions. advocacy & capabilities building Africa.

She is also a member of the IFPMA Africa Engagement Committee. Barbara Ngouyombo holds a Master of Health and Drug Engineering from University of Lyon, a Masters Degree in Technology Entrepreneurship, Management of Innovation from University College London & London Business School and an Engineering Degree in Telecommunications from Telecom Bretagne with a Major in telemedicine.

Versed in multiculturalism, Barbara grew-up in the French oversees Reunion Island where she was able to see firsthand the impact of infectious diseases (eg: dengue, chikungunya).
