Mrs. Dorothy Nyong’o

Mrs. Dorothy Nyong’o, the Managing Trustee of Africa Cancer Foundation, is the First Lady of Kisumu County and Director of 7th Sense Communications Limited. She is a PR consultant and holds an Executive MSc in Organisational Development from the United States International University (Nairobi), a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communications and a BA Hons (French, Political Science) from the University of Nairobi.

Dorothy has participated in and organised numerous conferences around the world. She has provided consultancy services for the public sector, international and national NGOs most notably the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and Family Health Options Kenya (FHOK) where she conducted research and wrote a project on “strategies for increasing the visibility of NGOs in Kenya”. Dorothy, who had a close encounter with cancer, when her husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2010, believes that with sufficient information sent out in the right way, the number of cancer deaths would reduce.

She works with faith and is optimistic that the cancer-free Africa dream will be realised through the Africa Cancer Foundation as it networks with other like-minded organisations around the world.
