BIOGRAPHY

Marloes is one of the Africa Health Business’ Directors in charge of operations and comes with 7 years ‘high-level managerial experience.  Since relocating to Kenya in 2012, Marloes has been providing research consultancy and advisory services in multiple projects aimed at strengthening the development of the (East) African (private) healthcare sector. Besides her role as Director at AHBS, Marloes also serves as the Project Coordinator for Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF) and is the founder and board member of Imarika Initiative. At KHF Marloes is responsible for the coordination and mobilization of KHF’s project-partnerships with development and corporate partners. Imarika Initiative is a Community Based Organization of mothers with children with a mental disability. Imarika has set up a daycare center for children with special needs and has a small shop in order to financially sustain the daycare and to provide employment for the Imarika mothers.

Before moving to Kenya, Marloes worked at the Investment Fund for Health in Africa (IFHA) a Dutch-based private equity fund dedicated to SME-sized (equity) investments in private healthcare companies in Africa.Marloes holds a MA in Public Administration and Organizational Science and BSc in Cultural Anthropology and Sociology of non-Western Societies, both obtained at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
