Dr. Harald Nusser led Novartis Social Business that helped improve access to healthcare in lower income countries. He is a global health expert who believes that despite progress in reducing poverty, billions of people still lack access to essential healthcare. Many countries are facing the growing burden of noncommunicable diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer, while still having to fight infectious diseases like malaria.
He believes that tackling a challenge of this magnitude requires innovative and collaborative thinking. It means taking risks, stepping out of our comfort zone and looking beyond what is immediately apparent to find new and better ways to make treatments available to as many people as possible.
Dr. Harald Nusser is a Global ambassador – G20 health and Development Partnership.
