Dr. Patricia Odero
As Regional Director, Dr. Patricia Odero leads multiple initiatives across Sub-Saharan Africa for the Duke Global Health Innovation Center. In conjunction, she leads regional programming for Innovations in Healthcare which is a non-profit cofounded by Duke University, the World Economic Forum and McKinsey and Company. Patricia is proficient in building partnerships with multiple stakeholders to strengthen local ecosystems and bolster innovation. Some partners that Patricia and her team work with include governments, funders, corporations, universities and innovators.
Patricia leverages her experience working across the health care value chain in health systems strengthening, managing a private regional health insurance company as well as being a clinician. She has worked in multiple geographies including East Africa, West Africa and South East Asia. Prior to joining Duke University, Patricia worked with Palladium Group (formerly Futures Group) on global health consulting projects. Dr. Odero holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBCh.B) degree from the University of Nairobi and an Executive MBA from Strathmore University. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Social Innovation at the University of Cambridge.
