Conference Information

Venue

All meetings will take place at King Fahd Palace Hotel

Registration / Badges
All participants and official guests are requested to wear their name badge during all events. Admission to the sessions is restricted to registered participants wearing their name badge. Your badge will be handed out at the registration desk at the King Fahd Palace Hotel.

Registration opening hours: Sunday, 5th November – Tuesday 7th November from 08:00 – 17:00

Language
A simultaneous interpretation service French-English and English-French will be provided during the plenary meeting (Thursday-Friday). Other meetings will be conducted in English unless specifically indicated, please refer to our agenda.

Insurance and Liability
It is highly recommended that all participants carry adequate individual travel and health insurance, as Africa Health Business and/or its agents cannot accept liability for accidents, illnesses or injuries that may occur at or during the meetings.

Mobile Phones
As a courtesy to speakers and other delegates, we request that all mobile phones and pagers are turned off before you enter the meeting venue.

Emergency
In case of emergencies, or for first-aid service during the conference, please contact the staff at the registration desk or the hotel reception.

Visas & Passports

It is the responsibility of the participant to review his/her visa status and determine whether they need a visa or visa renewal for entering the country where the conference is hosted.

Please note that passport and visa requirements are liable to change at short notice. Travellers are therefore advised to check their entry requirements with their embassy or consulate.

All visitors must either hold a return or onward ticket and all documents for next destination. Passports must be valid for at least three months on entry; however, it is highly recommended that passports have at least six months’ validity remaining after your intended date of departure from your travel destination as immigration officials sometimes apply different rules to those stated by travel agents and official sources.

Transport/ Taxi

Airport

The Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport is less than 20 minutes’ drive from the hotel. Both taxis and car rental agencies are available at the airport, so you have several easy options for getting into the city. For more information please visit: https://www.aeroport-dakar.com/

Taxi

Taxis are the easiest way of getting around town. They are recognizable by their yellow and black colour. They do not have a taximeter and any ride outside Dakar must be negotiated with the driver before entering the vehicle. The official taxi rates for trips from Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport are put up outside the airport. Don’t pay more. For more information please visit:

Car rental

All delegates are responsible for their accommodation unless otherwise specified. The AHBS II homepage outlines the negotiated rates with various hotels, and should be booked directly with the hotel.
